We Are To Be Witnesses For Christ

Sunday, December 10, 2017

The Tennessee Baptist Association conducted a survey on our behalf that revealed there are 16,000 people who live in the three-mile radius of our church. Many of them do not attend any church. God commanded us in Acts 1:8, to be His witnesses "both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest parts of the earth." Jerusalem represents our immediate city area. Judea and Samaria expand out further like a county and state. We must witness to our immediate area first, before going "to the remotest parts of the earth."Our witness must be vertical, visible and verbal. Vertical thru prayer; visible by showing we care; and our witness must be verbal. Verbal means ask God to open the door for you to share: 1. How you came to know Christ; 2. Your life before Christ; and 3. Your life since you met Christ.

God’s vision for our church is to Show people how to be saved; then to Grow people in Christ thru discipleship, and finally, to Glorify God in all things. In short, we’re to SHOW, GROW and GLO! Before we can SHOW, GROW and GLO, we need 160 of you to sign-up at PRAY4TN.com to pray for 16,000 people by 2020.

Those who sign-up will receive a daily email Monday thru Friday with five names of your neighbors and a sample prayer to pray. When you go to the PRAY4TN.com website, it’ll take you to the place to register. Look for the word “LIGHTS”, and click below to enter your info. You’ll be asked to select a church. Choose New Covenant Fellowship, and you’ll be on your way to fulfilling God’s command to be His witnesses.

In Ecclesiastes 4:12 it states, “A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer.” Do you believe in the power of prayer? Will you “stand back-to-back” with 160 of us to pray for our neighbors’ salvation?
