Dr. Bernie Miller

Pastor

He is the founding Pastor of New Covenant Fellowship Church answering the call to pastor in 1991 and founded the Church in 1996.

Dr. Miller is a graduate of Covington Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Madelene have a son, Zachary .

Joe Vesselles

Executive Elder 

Joe was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Winnsboro, SC. and then enlisted in the US Army and served from November 1977 to November 1983.

Joe is currently employed with the Hamilton County Clerk’s office in the Tag and Title Department. He and his wife, Barbara, have been married since 1980, and have four children and five grandchildren. Joe has been a member of NCF since September 1996. 

Steven Gustafson

Elder

He is confident of this, that “He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”
 
He is married to Melissa, his dearest companion and describes her as God’s gift of grace. He has been blessed with two wonderful children who fill his heart with joy by just spending time together.

Charles Kimbrough

Elder

Charles was born in Chattanooga, spent part of his childhood in Detroit, MI, but came home to be a 1982 graduate of Brainerd High School. While in the 11th grade, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was sworn into active duty in June of 1982. He later transitioned to the U.S. Army where he served in Operation Desert Storm. Charles has an Associate Degree in Business from Chattanooga State , attended Morehouse College, and later obtained a Master of Theology degree from Christian Life School of Theology.

Charles and his wife, Dwanna, have been married since 1994, and they have three children and one granddaughter.

Alex Gunn

Elder

Alex accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and has been a dedicated member of New Covenant Fellowship Church since 1997 and enjoys humor and making people laugh.

In addition to being employed by McKee Baking Company, Alex is the owner of Alex Gunn Construction Company, a licensed contractor, a real estate developer, real estate investor, property manager and home renovation consultant. Alex and his wife have one son. 

Ken Struthers

Deacon Chairmen

Ken was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He came to know Jesus Christ while in college at Michigan State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Packaging Engineering.

Ken has enjoyed being a member of New Covenant Fellowship Church since 2008, and works with the Marriage and Greeting Ministries. He is employed with Chattem Inc., and enjoys mentoring youth, traveling, and sports as his interest.

 Ken has been married to his college sweetheart for 24 years and they have three children.

Fred Yarbrough

Deacon

Fred is from Covington, TN and graduated from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville 1970 with Bachelor of Science degrees in physics and mathematics.  He worked as a high school physics and math teacher and basketball coach for 25 years in Memphis, TN. In 1994, he married his wife, Virginia and moved to Chattanooga, TN, where he continued to teach and coach for 15 years at Ooltewah High School until his retirement in 2010. Fred is the father of three children and five grandchildren. 

Ed Hines

Deacon

Ed was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN and has worked mentoring youth throughout for 38 years. He is a Life Facilitator for On Point Direction For Life. Ed is a graduate of Chattanooga State Technical Community College, and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, majoring in education.
Ed is married to his adorable wife Sandra (San) and they have one son, Brandon

William Newson

Deacon

William was born in Oak Ridge, TN, raised in Chattanooga, and a member of  New Covenant Fellowship since 2005 where he serves as deacon and oversees the Multi-media Ministry.

William is married to his lovely wife, Nichole, and they  have three wonderful children, Westin, Waylen, and Loreale.

David Amberger

Deacon

David was born, raised and later stationed at Fort Bragg, NC and spent time growing up in Japan and Virginia. He graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and had a career with the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserves
officially retiring in 2011 after 28 years. Currently David serves as the head of Purchasing for Five Star Food Service, Inc. God knocked David off of his high horse in 1990 when he came to Christ and has led him and his beautiful wife, Stephanie to New Covenant Fellowship since 2020 where he loves serving the body of Christ. David & Stephanie have one son, Korie, who lives in Barcelona Spain.

Sam Patton

Music Director

Sam Patton is a native of Memphis, TN, but moved to Chattanooga in 1994 to attend UTC with dreams of becoming a pharmacist. However, God had other plans for him. In December 2008, he came aboard with the NCF church family as music director under Dr. Bernie Miller. He and his family joined the ministry about a year later.

Sam is the father of two wonderful children: Genesis Patton and Samuel L. Patton. His wife of over 13 years is LaTara Patton, who is a native of the scenic city.

Jerry Marshall

Children's Director & Discipleship Pastor

Jerry Marshall is a Chattanooga native and graduate of the Kirkman Technical High School. Jerry served in the Navy and then continued his education at Temple School of the Bible, earning a degree in general Theology, and a bachelor of Theology from Covington Theological Seminary and is currently working towards a Master of Divinity from Okanagan Bible College. Since 1996, Jerry and his wife, Tanea,  have been a part of New Covenant and he currently serves as the Discipleship Pastor and in the Children’s Ministry. 

Carlos Davis

Facilities Director

Carlos is a native of Chattanooga and a member of the 1992 graduating class of Brainerd High School.  He continued his education at Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee earning a B.S. in Mass Communications with emphasis in Radio & Television Production.

Bobby Daniels

Communications Director

Bobby has been a part of this community since 1988 when he arrived from South Carolina to attend Chattanooga State Technical Community College to study Mass Communications with emphasis in Radio & Television Production. 

Bobby has been married to his wife for over 30 years and together they have a daughter.

Reba Kunselman

Bookkeeper 

Reba Kunselman has served as bookkeeper on the NCFC team since 2002. She was born and raised here in Chattanooga, graduated from Tyner High School. She went on to Trevecca Nazarene College in Nashville where she earned her bachelor’s degree.

Reba is married to Don Kunselman and they have two adult children, Brett and Grant. 

Andrea Howard

Administrative Assistant 

Andrea Howard has served as administrative assistant on the NCF team since 2009. Andrea was born and raised in Chattanooga; graduated from Howard High School and attended Knoxville College. She is the parent of three children, ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. 

Annette Golson

Culinary Coordinator 

Annette was born in Chattanooga, TN. She graduated from Brainerd High School in 1978. Annette has over 25 years of experience in food service having held the positions of dietary aide, cook, lead baker, catering supervisor (set up and serving) and kitchen manager. When not using her culinary skills, she pursues the hobbies of reading, cooking and collecting vintage purses. She and her husband, Reginald, have been married for 12 years and have two children and five grandchildren. Annette has served as the Kitchen Ministry supervisor since October 2013.
